Amazing what a little paint can do....The girls room Before: it really was a "poopy brown" .... NOT acceptable for 2 sweet little girls... MAYBE for a "tween's room"...MAYBE...that is a stretch.... but still.... This is gross ! (I may be able to make the window treatments work...we'll see)
My little girls' room After: Now THIS is a little girls color... "savvy pink" and the fan will be white....
Spare room BEFORE: I HATED the bad bad bad BAD Awful paintings of the girls complete with the butterfly patch and faux scarf glued to the wall...making this disaster design 3D.. .. WHAT was that? I suspect that the decorator was in design school at the time of this design... or more like they used a 9 year old daughter of the builder.
The spare room AFTER: MUCH better ! "La Fonda Mirage" either the Jack or the Jill of the bathrooms Before ... probably the Jill since the 9 year old decorator had painted flowers and purses (and a shoe I think) ON THE WALLS..... but who knows these days... I guess that could be Jack...?
The Jill After: Painted over the cartoon flowers, flying purses and shoes on the bathroom walls with "Pecan Dream" and REALLY toned down... way down..... the orange in the shower toilet area....Was Navel ORANGE.... now it is a soft cantelope (viva gold)...
the laundry room Before..oops NO before picture....... there was a cute LARGE dog painted above the shelf and a message painted above the sink to "wash your paws"... but we have no dog and we are not getting one anytime soon
The laundry room After... I'll be imagining that I am in a spa "La Fonda Mirage" while I do the laundry. I saved my old chandilier from my dining room and I am going to see if I can hang it here instead of the floresecent number..... Finally... the hardest room for me to pick color was this one...
The Media Room Before: I felt like I was in a giant chalk board. The picture is not showing the dark denim blue as it really was... and the inspiration must have come from the tile in the bar top but since you cant see it unless you are lifting a glass or mug up from your coaster then.... why use it as THE main color.... head scratcher here...
I tried a lighter blue as my friend Shari suggested.... and that was WRONG, then advised by a neighbor to go with "viva gold".... way WRONG.... (that actually ended up as the orange / yellow used in the shower area 2 photos up) my sweet friend Mary said keep the dark blue because "it is a media room and you want it dark"... but I was NOT feeling it... just not right....don't mind the dark it was the denim blue that I hated ...I swear it would have been easier and less painful to have to pick out a new kidney than this paint color.....FINALLY it came to me..... I went with MY gut... "anonymous" .... The media room after....it is brown/grey and SOOOOOO much better.
The dudes suspect to be finished with the interior this week..... AMAZING.....then the outside crew will come and finish up... hook up the power, put in the a/c, install gutters, and landscaping..... fingers are crossed that we are in by end of September. I really want to be in for Halloween.... what a fun time for an open house and OH how I want to start decorating. xoxoxoxoxxo Catherine
LOVE IT. But why didn't the house come properly painted?? Or better why did a brand new house come wierdly painted with flying purses? I thought all houses came builder white.
